It was a pleasant surprise to win a trophy or two this year at the Howick Camera Club. I only joined in June of this year, and didn’t think I had been there long enough to even qualify.
First and foremost, I want to thank my Nana, affectionately referred to as Ancient Nana, for allowing me to photograph her just after she had to move into a hospital care at the rest home. This image is a true likeness of my Nana, sitting drinking her tea, with an expression that I feel shows her dry sense of humour.
Not only did I win the Colour Cup for C Grade Print of the Year, but also won Champion Print of the Year overall.
I plan on visiting Nana after school pick up today, and showing her the trophies I won with her image.
All the more motivation to give Shona Kebble a run for her money in the years to come!
