Hello, my name is Lisa and I am a photo-a-holic.
For as long as I can remember I have cherished photos. My poor parents are still harbouring suitcases full of prints that I simply cannot part with. Every image is a treasure, a memory.
I recently discovered a postcard I sent to my Nana in 1988, stating how excited I was to have bought my first camera! I would have been 6 or 7 years old at the time.
Back in college I was very passionate about photography and dreamed of someday becoming a professional photographer. I went on to AUT to complete studies in film photography. When digital photography arrived on the scene I moved away from photography for a while, but always kept a close eye on the industry.
In July 2010 our daughter, Ila, arrived a few weeks early and was put into NICU. Photography was a cathartic way for me to deal with this tough situation.
Capturing people, creating tangible memories and helping people to see their beauty and uniqueness has become … more than a hobby… more than an obsession… showing people how I see them, through photography, has become my purpose and passion in life.
